'Easy Lover'는 Philip Bailey의 3번째 솔로 앨범인 <Chinese Wall>의 수록곡으로 Phil Collins와 Nathan East가 공동으로 작사 작곡하고 Phil Collins가 프로듀싱 하였다.

(이 곡의 작곡, 보컬, 프로듀서로 참여한 Phil Collins의 1990년 앨범 <Serious Hits... Live!>와 1998년 <...Hits>에도 수록되었다.)

(Philip Bailey는 Earth, Wind & Fire의 초기 리드 보컬로 잘 알려져 있다)

 

 

빌보드 HOT100에서 2위에 올랐으며, 영국, 캐나다, 아일랜드, 일본, 네덜란드등에서 차트 1위에 올랐고, 그 외 많은 국가에서 TOP10에 들며 전세계적으로 크게 성공하였다.

 

 

Grammy Award에서도 Pop Performance 부문에 노미네이트 되었으나, MJ가 주축이 된 "We are The World"에 밀려 아십게 수상은 하지 못했다.

 

 

빌보드 HOT100에서는 아쉽게도 당시 어마어마하게 히트했던 "I want to know what love is"에 밀려 2위에 머물렀는데, 80년대와 90년대는 명곡들이 집중적으로 쏟아져 나왔던 시기라 다른 시기였다면 충분히 1위를 차지하고 Grammy에서 수상의 영예를 가져갔을 만한 곡임에도 그렇지 못했던 곡들이 많아 아쉽다.

 

 

Paul Flattery가 제작하고 Jim Yukich가 감독한 뮤직비디오는 영국 런던의 Etward Studios에서 촬영되었는데, 1985년 MTV 비디오 뮤직 어워드에서 Best Overall Performance in a Video(비디오 부문 최우수 공연상)을 수상했다.
