[Ne-Yo] - Because of You.2007(가사, 영상, 얽힌 이야기)

"Because of You"는 Ne-Yo의 두 번째 스튜디오 앨범 <Because of You>의 수록곡으로 전작과 동일하게 Ne-Yo & Stargate(Mikkel S. Eriksen & Tor Erik Hermansen)이 함께 작사작곡하였으며, Stargate가 프로듀싱 하였다.

 

 

발표 후 빌보드 200의 정상에 올랐고 단숨에 Pletinum을 기록하였으며, 다수 국가에서 TOP10에 오르며 많은 사랑을 받았지만, 아쉽게도 당시 기세등등했던 MAROON5의 "Makes Me Wonder"에 밀려 빌보드 HOT100 과 UK 차트에서는 2위까지 오르는등 No.1 자리를 차지하지 못하는 아쉬움을 남겼다.

 

 

뮤직비디오는 Melina Matsoukas가 감독하였고, 의상은 June Ambrose가 디자인 하였는데, 유튜브 조회수 2억1000만 뷰를 돌파했다. 뮤직비디오의 영상 내내 Ne-Yo는 그의 우상이었던 King of Pop "Michael Jackson"의 춤을 선보이며 그에 대한 존경심을 표현하기도 했고, 배우 매튜 맥커너히의 실제 아내인 Camila Alves가 첫 번째 장면에서 Ne-Yo의 여자 친구 역할로 출연하기도 했다.

 

 

이전글에서도 언급했었는데, Ne-Yo는 패션센스가 굉장히 좋고 다른 여타 흑인 가수들이 깡패처럼 옷을 입는것과는 달리 젠틀한 옷차림을 선호하는 것으로 유명하고, 무엇보다도 '모자광'으로 매우 유명한데, 외출할때의 필수품으로써 장소와 자리에 따라 중절모, 야구모자, 비니, 두건등 여러가지의 모자를 필수적으로 착용하여 모자가 없으면 절대 외출하지 않는다고 알려져 있다.

 

 

 

(딱 한번 과속으로 경찰 단속에 걸려서 경찰서에서 모자를 벗고 머그샷을 찍었는데 그 멋지던 사람이 세상 못나보였다. 탈모 + 맹해보이는 인상이 충격이었다.)
