"With You"는 Chris Brown의 두 번째 스튜디오 앨범 <Exclusive>의 수록곡으로 Chris Brown, Stargate(Tor Erik Hermansen, Mikkel Eriksen)Johntá Austin, Espen Lind, Amund Bjørklund 가 공동으로 작사,작곡했으며 Stargate(Tor Erik Hermansen, Mikkel Eriksen)가 프로듀싱 하였다.

 

 

이 곡은 2007년 12월 4일 미국에서 해당 앨범의 세 번째 싱글로 선행 발매되었고, 2008년 3월 월드와이드로 발매되어, 빌보드 HOT 100에서 2위, Pop Chart에서 1위를 비롯하여 뉴질랜드 차트 1위 및 여러 국가에서 TOP 5에 들며 많은 사랑을 받았는데, Urban 스타일과 contemporary R&B 스타일을 혼합한 분당 86비트의 템포를 가진 곡으로, 역시나 86비트의 템포는 진리가 아닌가 다시금 생각나게 하는 곡이다.

 

 

뮤직 비디오는 Erik White와 Chris Brown이 함께 디렉팅 했는데, 특별한 스토리 라인 보다는 여러가지 시각 효과를 활용하여 Chris Brown과 그의 무브먼트를 부각하여 제작되었고, 2008년 MTV 비디오 뮤직 어워드에서 "Best Male Video" 상을 수상했다.

 

 

Chris Brown은 16세에 본인의 이름을 딴 데뷔앨범 (Chris Brown>을 발표하고 선풍적인 인기를 모으고, 2년후 2007년 18세의 나이에 2집 <Exclusive>를 발표하였는데, 이미 이때즈음에는 미국에서 Chris Brown을 두고 마이클 잭슨, 어셔의 계보를 잇는 미국 최고의 춤꾼 & 보컬 & 랩 & 작사 & 작곡 & 프로듀싱능력까지 최고 수준으로 갖추고 있는 뮤지션으로 극찬을 받으며 현 세대 최강 재능을 타고난 예술적 천재로 치켜세우고 있었다.

 

 

실제로 2005년 16세에 데뷔한 Chris Brown은 One Hit Wonder로 사라지거나, 혹은 몇 곡의 히트 후에 사라진 수많은 뮤지션들과 달리 15년 동안 장기간의 공백 없이 빌보드 상위권에 작품을 계속해서 올리며 스스로를 증명하고 있고, 데뷔 후 지금까지 트렌드에서 뒤쳐진 적 없이 자기 스스로가 트렌드를 이끌어가고 있는 몇 안 되는 뮤지션 중 한 명이다.
