"Sleeping Child"는 Michael Learns To Rock의 두 번재 앨범 <Colours>에 수록된 곡으로, Jacha Richter가 작곡하고, Oli Poulsen이 프로듀싱 하였다. 자국인 덴마크 차트에서 5위까지 올랐는데, 이상할 정도로 동아시아지역에서 엄청난 사랑을 받았다.

Michael Learns To Rock은 덴마크 출신의 Soft-Rock 밴드로 1987년 덴마크에서 고등학생이던 Jacha Richter(키보드), Kare Wanscher(드럼)이 다른 팀에 있던 Soren Madsen을 끌어들여 밴드를 결성하여, 지역 경연 대회에서 우승을 거머쥐면서 데뷔한 팀이다.

팀이름이 특이한데, 밴드 이름 고민을 안하다가 갑자기 경연대회에서 우승하면서 얼결에 붙인 이름이라고 한다. (여기서 마이클은 팝의 제왕 마이클 잭슨을 의미.)

1988년 결성 이후 주로 동아시아 권에서 많은 사랑을 받으면서 무려 1천2백만장 이상의 앨범판매를 기록했다. Rock의 메인 스트림이 사회적 메세지나 포스트 모더니즘의 메세지를 담는 쪽이라면 이쪽은 부드럽고 고운 선율에 서정적인 내용으로 많은 지지를 얻었다. 그런 밴드의 분위기로 인해서 Hard Rock보다 Rock Ballad가 훨씬 강세인 한국에서 특히 많은 사랑을 받았다.
