"Your Eyes"는 프랑스 작곡가 Vladimir Cosma가 작곡하고 Jeff Jordan이 작사하였으며, Pierre Richard Muller가 프로듀싱한 곡으로, 1982년 프랑스 영화 La Boum 2의 사운드트랙으로 영국의 뉴웨이브 밴드 Cook Da Books 가 부른 오리지널 곡이다. 영화의 인기에 힘입어, 전작만큼의 메가히트 정도는 아니었지만, 프랑스, 독일, 이탈리아, 홍콩등 차트에서 1위를 차지했고, 한국에서도 아주 많은 사랑을 받았다.

 

 

Sophie Marceau의 대뷔작이자 출세작이라고 할 수 있는 10대 청춘물인 La Boum의 대성공에 힘입어, 2년 후 La Boum 2 가 제작되었는데, 1편만한 2편은 없다는 소포모어 징크스를 깨고 속편 역시 대성공을 하게된다 .

 

 

라붐 2의 흥행으로 소피 마르소는 프랑스와 유럽의 국민 아이돌로 떠올랐고, 동아시아에서도 폭발적인 인기를 누리게 되지만, 자국 프랑스에서는 일부 비판을 뷔한 비판을 하는 소수비평가들에게 전문적인 연기 수업을 받지 않고 얼굴로만 뜬 배우라는 비판을 받기도 했다.

 

 

한국에서는 영화가 개봉한지 4년이나 지난 1986년에 정식으로 개봉했지만, 이미 일본과 홍콩의 루트를 통해서 들어온 '불법 비디오'로 젊은 사람들은 이미 다 영화를 본 후였고, 그랬기에 주제가인 Your Eyes가 영화가 개봉도 안했음에도 대중적인 사랑을 받았다.

 

 

La Boum당시 14살 이던 그녀는 2년 뒤 16살이 되어 La Boum2를 찍었는데, 2년만에 부쪽 성숙해지고 174cm의 장신이라고 생각되지 않는 균형잡힌 얼굴과 몸매로 유럽을 대표하는 스타로 자리잡는다.
