1987년 8월31일에 7번째 싱글로 발표되어 당연하게도 빌보드 No.1을 차지했던 MJ 형님이 작사, 작곡하고 MJ와 퀀시 존스가 공동으로 프로듀싱하여 그의 색체가 명확하게 반영된 경쾌하고 흥겨운 곡이다.

 

시간이 지나도 변치 않고 사랑받는 곡이었기에, "The Way You Make Me Feel"은 1995년 발표된 Jackson의 컴필레이션 앨범인 HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I 의 첫 번째 디스크와 2003년 발표된 Number Ones, the Ultimate의 첫 번째 디스크에 수록되었고, 2004년 발표된 Collentiom, 2005년 발표된 The Essential Michael Jackson 및 2009년 발표된 This Is It.에 수록되기도 했었다.

 

때문에 이 곡은 MJ의 모든 월드 투어 콘서트에서 빠지지 않고 등장하였으며, This Is It 콘서트에서도 역시 공연될 예정이었다고 한다......

 

The Way You Make Me Feel"은 현대 음악 평론가들로부터 두루 긍정적인 평가를 받았었는데,

 

AllMusic의 평론가 Stephen Thomas Erlwine은 "The Way You May Me Feel"과 Bad 앨범의 타이틀 트랙 이었던 "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" 및 "Man In The Mirror"를 Bad 의 'Track picks' from Bad'으로 꼽으면서, MJ의 전작이었던 인류 역사상 가장 많이 판매되었던 Thriller에 대항할 수 있는 곡은 Bad, The Way You May Me Feel, I Just Can't Stop Loving You 3곡 뿐이라고 치켜 세웠다.

 

안타까웠던 MJ의 사망 이 후 이 곡은 다시 한번 역주행을 하며 엄청난 인기를 얻었는데, 2009년 7월 4일 네덜란드 차트에 세 번째로 다시 진입하는 것을 시작으로 영국과 스웨덴 챠트에서도 역주행 하였으며,디지털 다운로드인 빌보드 Hot Digital Songs 에서 6위를 기록하는 것을 정점으로 Top 10안에 들기도 했다.

 

 

뮤직 비디오는 Joe Pytkark가 감독 하였고, LA의 Skid Row에서 촬영 되었다고 한다.
