Joyride - Roxette.1991(이야기들)

"Joyride"는 스웨덴의 팝 듀오 Roxette의 세 번째 정규 앨범 <Joyride>의 수록곡으로 듀오의 남자멤버인 Per Håkan Gessle가 작사작곡하였고, 듀오의 오랜 전담 프로듀서였던 Clarence Öfwerman가 프로듀싱 하였다.

 

 

앨범의 리드 싱글로 발매되어 빌보드 HOT100에서 1위를 차지했고, 캐나다, 호주, 유로HOT100, 오스트리아, 벨기에, 덴마크, 독일, 네덜란드, 노르웨이, 포르투갈, 스페인, 스웨덴, 스위스, 짐바브웨등 전세계적으로 크게 사랑받았다.

 

 

Roxette의 가장 큰 히트작 중 하나이자 1991년 전세계에서 가장 성공한 싱글 중 하나가 되된 이 곡은 Per Gessle의 당시 여자 친구(현재의 아내가 된)가 피아노에 남긴 메모 "Hej, din tok, jag älskar dig"(Hello, you fool, I love you)에서 영감을 얻어 만들어졌다고 한다.

 

 

또한 곡의 제목인 "Joyride"는 한 인터뷰에서 비틀즈의 멤버 Paul McCartney(폴 메카트니)가 John Lennon(존 레논)과 함께 곡을 쓰는 것을 "a long joyride"에 비유했던 것에서 가져왔다고 하는데, Per Gessle은 이 말이 너무나 가슴에 와 꽂혔다고 한다.

 

 

이 곡은 전세계적인 상업적 성공과 더불어 평단에서도 광범위한 평론가들에 의해 극찬을 받았는데,
