Armageddon It - Def Leppard.1988(이야기들)

"Armageddon It"은 영국 록 밴드 Def Leppard의 네 번째 앨범 <Hysteria>에 수록된 곡으로 Joe Elliott(리드싱어), Rick Savage(베이스), Phil Collen(리드기타), Steve Clark(기타), Robert John "Mutt" Lange가 함께 만들었고, Robert John "Mutt" Lange가 프로듀싱 하였다.

 

 

앨범의 6번째 싱글로 발매되어 빌보드 HOT100에서 3위까지 올랐고, 뉴질랜드 2위, 캐나다 8위, 아일랜드 11위, 영국 20위, 호주 34위등에 오르며 많은 사랑을 받았다.

 

 

밴드의 1995년작 컴필레이션 앨범인 Vault : Def Leppard Greatest Hits (1980-1995)의 라이너 노트에서 리드 싱어인 Joe Elliott에 따르면 이 곡의 보컬 스타일은 "T.Rex meets Eddie Cochran with backing vocals"(T.Rex가 백킹 보컬로 Eddie Cochran을 만난것)과도 같다고 묘사했는데, 싱글에 등장하는 곡은 앨범 버전인 'Atomic Mix'와 확장 버전인 'Nuclear Mix'의 두 가지 믹스가 있다.

이 곡의 뮤직비디오는 라이브 공연에서의 Def Leppard의 모습으로 제작되었는데, <Hysteria> 앨범의 여섯 번째 싱글로 "Armageddon It"의 발매가 한달 앞으로 다가와 있었고 프로모션 비디오 클립이 시급히 필요했던 당시의 그들은 1988년 2월 12~13일에 향후 라이브 공연 필름 공개를 위해 Denver, Colorado(콜로라도 주 덴버)의 McNichols Arena에서 진행된 두 번의 공연 레코드에서 만들어졌다.
