"I Feel It Coming"은 캐나다의 싱어송라이터 Weeknd의 세 번째 스튜디오 앨범 <Starboy>의 수록곡으로 Abel Tesfaye & Thomas Bangalter & Guy-Manuel & Martin McKinney & Henry Walter & Eric Chedeville 이 함께 만들었고, Daft Punk & Don McKinney & Cirkut & The Weeknd가 함께 프로듀싱 하였다.

 

 

빌보드 HOT 100에서 4위를 차지하였고, 프랑스 차트에서는 1위를 차지하였다. 그리고 영국, 캐나다, 호주 뉴질랜드, 스페인을 포함한 22여개국에서 TOP 10에 위치하며 전세계적으로 크게 하트하였고, 월드와이드 세일즈로 무려 920만 유닛을 판매하며 상업적으로 대성공을 거두었다.

2015년 발매된 2집 <Beauty Behind The Madness>의 대성공으로 최고의 주가를 달리던 Weeknd는 캐나다 출신 동료들의 소개로 Daft Punk와 연이 닿게 되는데, Daft Punk가 프랑스 Paris에 있는 자신들의 스튜디오로 Weeknd를 초대하며 함께 "I Feel It Coming"을 작곡하게 된다.

 

 

 

Daft Punk의 멤버 Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo는 단 한시간만에 이 곡의 초안을 만들어냈다고 하는데(추가 작업 및 편곡은 Doc McKinney & Cirkut에 의해 이루어졌다), 그것을 듣자마자 그자리에서 Weeknd는 또 하나의 곡을 써내려갔으니, 그것이 바로 앨범의 첫 번째 트랙이 되는 "Starboy"였다고 한다. 그런 이유에서인지 앨범 타이틀 곡이자 첫 번째 싱글로 발표된 "Starboy"는 Weeknd의 스타일이 강하게 느껴지고, "I Feel It Coming"은 Daft Punk의 스타일이 강하게 느껴진다. 그리고 뮤직비디오는 "Starboy"와 "I Feel It Coming"의 스토리가 이어지는 내용으로 만들어졌다.

 

이 곡은 Daft Punk가 해체하기전 마지막으로 작업한 곡이 되었으며, Daft Punk의 해체 이후 Weeknd는 자신의 SNS에 Daft Punk와 여정을 함께할 수 있던 것에 감사함을 밝히기도 했다.
