"My Happy Ending"은 Avril Lavigne의 두 번째 스튜디오 앨범인 <Under My Skin>의 수록곡으로 Avril Lavigne 과 Butch Walker가 함께 만들었으며, Butch Walker가 프로듀싱 하였다.

 

 

앨범의 두 번째 싱글로 발매되어 영국,캐나다, 체코등에서 TOP 5에 들었고, 빌보드 HOT100 9위까지 올랐으며, 2004년 전세계에서 5번째로 많이 팔린앨범으로 기록될 만큼 많은 사랑을 받았다.

 

 

2002년 혜성처럼 등장하며 섹시 컨셉의 여가수들과 결을 달리하여 메가히트 했던 Avril Lavigne의 2번째 스튜디오 앨범은 전작과 비교해서 훨씬 하드하며, 그녀의 모든 앨범 중 가장 사운드가 강하고 어두운 Alternative Rock 앨범인데,

 

사실 그녀의 데뷔앨범은 상업적 성공을 위한 소속사의 입김이 너무 강했다고 평가받는데, 2집은 그녀가 하고 싶었던 음악으로 Avril Lavigne 특유의 색깔이 정말 강렬하게 녹아 있다. 사실상 에이브릴 라빈이 현재까지 그 긴시간동안에도 팬층을 유지하고 있는 주된 이유인 앨범이다.

 

 

이 앨범은 발매 첫주 초동 381,000장으로 빌보드 200에서 1위로 데뷔하는등 큰 성공을 거두었고, 그녀의 첫 앨범차트 1위 앨범이 된다. 이 앨범은 월드와이드 800만 장을 넘기면서 돌풍과도 같았던 데뷔 앨범에서의 인기를 이어나갔다. (2021년 기준 무려 1,200만장이라는 대단한 누적 판매고를 기록하고 있다.)
