"Rise & Fall"은 명실상부 영국을 대표하는 아티스트중 하나로 UK Garage 장르를 세계로 퍼트린 일등공신으로 2000년대 초반에 여기에 영항을 안받은 R&B가수가 없을 정도였던 영국 가수 Craig David의 두 번째 스튜디오 앨범 <Slicker Than Your Average>에 수록된 곡으로, 앨범의 세 번째 싱글로 발매 되어 UK 싱글 차트 2위, 호주 싱글 차트 10위를 기록했고, 유럽의 여러 국가들에서 많은 사랑을 받았다.

 

 

Craig David & Gordon Sumner & Dominic Miller이 작곡하였고, 덴마크의 레코드 프로듀서이자 작곡가인 Carsten Schack과 Kenneth Karlin로 구성된 듀오인 "Soulshock and Karlin"이 프로듀싱 한 이 곡은, 음악가 Sting과 공동으로 작업하였는데, Sting의 앨범 <Ten Summoner's Tales>의 수록곡인 "Shape of My Heart"을 샘플링 하였다.

 

 

 

이 곡이 수록된 두 번째 앨범인 <Slicker Than Your Average>는 전 세계 차트에서 10위권 안에 진입하고, 영국에서는 트리플 플래티넘, 미국에서는 골드를 받았고, 싱글인 'What's Your Flava?', 'Hidden Agenda', 'Rise & Fall', 'Spanish', 'You Don't Miss Your Water ('Til the Well Runs Dry), 'World Filled with Love'는 모두 TPO 10에 들었는데, 그중에서 이 'Rise & Fall'이 가장 널리 사랑을 받았다.
