"Can't Stop the Feeling!"은 미국의 슈퍼스타 Justin Timberlake의 노래로 Justin Timberlake & Max Martin & Shellback(본명 : Karl Johan Schuster)이 함께 창작하고 프로듀싱한 업템포의 디스코 팝, 펑크의 영향이 가미된 소울 팝 곡이다.

 

 

 

 

 

 

2016년 개봉한 장편 애니메이션 <Trolls>의 OST에서 리드 싱글로 발매되어 빌보드 HOT 100에서 1위로 HOT SHOT 데뷔하였으며, 빌보드 역사상 26번째로 HOT SHOT데뷔한 곡으로 역사에 기록되었으며, 미국외에 캐나다, 프랑스, 독일를 포함한 20개국에서 차트 1위를 차지하였으며, 다수의 국가에서 TOP 5에 드는등 거의 전세계 차트를 석권하는 엄청난 파워를 보여주었고, 월드와이트 세일즈 1,100만 유닛(실물, 트랙 등가 스트리밍 총 합산)을 기록하며 상업적으로 대성공을 거두었다.

 

 

 

 

 

 

비단 대중의 사랑에 힘입은 상업적 성공뿐 아니라 다수의 권위있는 시상식에서도 러브콜을 받았는데, 89회 아카데미와 골든 글러브에서 "Best Original Song"에 노미네이트 되었으며, Critics' Choice Award 에서 Best Song을 수상했고, Grammy Award에서 Best Song Written for Visual Media를 수상했다.

 

상업적인 대성공뿐 아니라, 평단에서도 두루 호평을 이끌어 냈는데, Rolling Stone, Fuse, USA Today는 각각 Jon Blistein, Jeff Benjamin, Carly Mallenbaum의 입을 통해 호평을 쏟아냈고,

Justin Timberlake는 2020년 4월 Rolling Stone과의 인터뷰에서 이 노래가 Bill Withers의 "Lovely Day"에서 영감을 받았다고 밝히며, 이 곡의 탄생 배경에 대해 아래와 같이 자신의 생각을 밝혔다.

 

- "This movie feels like one big, trippy disco experience. But we didn't have a disco song."

(이 영화는 하나의 거대하고 황홀한 디스코를 경험하는것과 같이 느껴지죠. 하지만 우리에게는 디스코 노래가 없었단 말이예요.)

 

- "We had 'September' [by Earth, Wind & Fire], but we thought this was a great opportunity to do a modern disco song. I think that disco is a really underappreciated genre."

(물론 우리에게는 이미 Earth, Wind & Fire의 "September"(라는 상징적인 디스코곡)이 있지만, 우리는 이 영화가 현대적인 디스코 곡을 만들 수 있는 좋은 기회라고 생각했어요. 난 말이죠. 디스코는 정말로 저평가된 장르라고 생각해요)
