영국의 록 밴드 Whitesnake의 오리지널 곡으로, 원래 1982년 그들의 앨범 <Saints & Sinners>에 수록되었었으나, 1987년 그들의 셀프 타이틀 앨범을 위해 "Here I Go Again '87"이라는 제목으로 재녹음되었고, 싱글로 발매되어 1987년 10월 빌보드 HOT 100 차트 1위, 캐나다 차트 1위, UK 싱글 차트 9위에 오르는등 많은 사랑을 받았다.

 

 

 

리드 싱어인 David Coverdale과 전 Whitesnake 기타리스트인 Bernie Marsden이 작곡한 이 곡은, 소속사였던 Geffen 의 사장 David Geffen과 Al Coury가 밴드의 셀프 타이틀 앨범 Whitesnake에 수록할 "Crying in the Rain"을 재녹음하기 위한 Coverdale과의 협상 계약으로 재녹음 할 것을 조언을 받았던 것인데, 결과적으로 대 성공을 하게되면서 좋은 결과를 가져왔다.

 

 

- 2006년, VH1의 80년대 최고의 노래 100선(100 Greatest Songs of the '80s)에서 17위에 올랐고,

- 2012년, Rolling Stone의 독자 설문에서 "역대 최고의 헤어 메탈 송" (The Best Hair Metal Songs of All Time) 9위에 선정되었으며,

- 2017년에는 Daily Telegraph가 선정한 최고의 파워 발라드(best power ballads) 21곡에 포함되었다.
