"Dream On"은 스코틀랜드의 록 밴드 Nazareth의 스튜디오 앨범 <2XS>에 수록된 곡으로 Billy Rankin & Manny Charlton이 만들었고, John Punter이 프로듀싱 하였다.

 

 

앨범 발매 이듬해인 1983년에 싱글로 발매되어 오스트리아 4위, 스위스 2위, 독일 15위등 유럽을 중심으로 사랑을 받았다.

 

 

이 곡은 밴드의 가장 큰 히트곡인 1976년 버전 Love Hurts와 더불어 밴드의 가장 큰 히트곡 중의 한 곡인데, 우리나라에서는 의류광고에서 요트를 몰고가는 멋진 젊은이들의 모습과 매칭되어 많이 기억되는 곡이다.

 

 

이 곡은 차트 1위를 차지할 정도로 슈퍼 히트 하진 않았지만, 수십년이 지난 지금도 밴드의 대표곡으로 라이브 무대에서 빠지지 않고 리퀘스트 1순위로 부르는 곡인데, 1987년에 Helix가 커버 버전을 발표 하기도 했다.

 

 

소리에서 80년대 그 시절의 공기와 느낌이 묻어나는 80,90년대 특유의 음악들 중에 한 곡이다.
