Bon Jovi 정규 4집 앨범 <New Jersey>에 실린 Rock Ballad 곡으로, 미국에서만 무려 1,200만장이라는 어마어마한 판매고를 기록했던 정규 3집 <Slippery When Wet>발매 이후 2년만인 1988년에 나온 <New Jersey> 앨범에 수록되었고, 1989년 싱글로 발매되었을 때 빌보드 HOT 100에서 1주간 1위를 차지했다.

본 앨범은 500만장 이상의 판매고를 올리며 Bon Jovi의 성공질주가 계속되고 있음을 증명하고 있었고, Bad Madicine과 I'll Be There For You 두 개의 No.1 싱글을 만들어 냈는데, 이 곡은 지금까지도 Bon Jovi의 3대 Rock Ballad중 한곡으로 꼽히며 오랜세월 사랑받는 곡이다.
